Funded PostDoc position in Management

and Organizations at the

Institute of Management and Organization

(IMO) Università della Svizzera italiana (USI),

at Lugano (Switzerland)

USI invites applications for one PostDoc position. The successful candidate will work at the
Institute of Management and Organization under the supervision of Professor Filippo Carlo
Wezel.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Computational Social Science or Computational Lin-
guistics, or in Management, Sociology or Political Science with methodological expertise in
Natural Language Processing. S/he should exhibit an interest in the study of the social
mechanisms underlying the behavior of organizations, in particular the competitive behavior
of political parties, using machine learning on large corpora. A keen interest in, and experi-
ence of, Natural Language Processing is required, as well as general expertise in quantita-
tive empirical research. Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Stata, R, Python) will
considered meritous.

With its emphasis on rigorous training and high-quality research, the Faculty of Economics at
USI provides the successful candidate a valuable first step toward the development of a suc-
cessful international academic career.

ples) that s/he deems relevant. In addition, candidates shall include in the application a short
